Some of the must-try dishes include:
- Nasi Kerabu – Is a vibrant and aromatic Malaysian rice dish that is usually served with raw herbs, fried fish or chicken, grated coconut (Kerisik) and some people likes to add fermented fish sauce (Budu).
- Ayam Percik – Consists of marinated chicken that is slowly grilled over charcoal. It is prepared with bone-in cuts that are seasoned with a spice that blends usually with coconut milk, cumin, turmeric, coriander, lemon grass, galangal, ginger and chili peppers.
- Laksam Kelantan – soft rolled rice noodles served in a creamy fish soup. Laksam Kelantan is made with coconut milk and creamy fish paste. And usually seasoned with ginger, shallots and garlic.
- Budu – a traditional fermented fish sauce often paired with rice or vegetables, offering a taste truly unique to Kelantan.
